Important Dates/ Upcoming Events

Next week will be Thanksgiving Break. There will be no school on November 21, 22, or 23. Enjoy the break with your child.

Our next STOMP Bash will be coming up soon. Please make sure that you are practicing your child's word wall words nightly. They will need to know 50% of the word wall words that have been introduced to be able to attend the STOMP Bash. At the STOMP Bash, the students get to choose fun activities to do such as Art, Computers, Dance, Games, or Basketball. They also receive a special snack.

We will begin our Christmas Around the World unit after Thanksgiving break. Your child will get to learn how other cultures and countries celebrate Christmas. We will end the unit by having a Christmas Around the World Feast in which they will get to taste food from the countries in which we have studied.

On the last day before Winter Break, we will have a Polar Express Party. The students will get to watch the movie, read the book, and may wear their pajamas to school to be like the characters in the movie/ book. They will also get to enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.

The Field Trip is Tomorrow!!

We are so excited about our field trip tomorrow. If you have ordered a t-shirt for your child, they will receive their t-shirt in the morning and will change into their t-shirt before we leave school. If you will be a volunteer, please arrive at school at 9:00. We will leave at approximately 9:15. Every student will receive a pumpkin. We will also ride on a hay wagon, go through a spooky farm house, see some farm animals, go through a corn maze, and eat a picnic lunch. We know we will have a fun and safe day!

T-Shirts and Field Trip

Our field trip has been scheduled for Thursday, October 11th. We will be going to Bi-Water farm in Georgetown. If you would like to be a volunteer, please go on the FCPS website and complete the volunteer form. You must be approved to be a volunteer. The cost of the field trip is $8.50. Please send in the money and permission slip as soon as possible. We will have a great time!!

We will be ordering class t-shirts this year. Our t-shirts will be navy with red writing and will say "Peace, Love, Kindergarten" and will have the school name and teachers' names. The price of the shirt is $5.50 and the money is due by September 21st. Thanks!

Welcome to Kindergarten!! 2012-2013

Welcome to Kindergarten!! We've had a full week of Kindergarten now and Miss Kate and I think it will be a wonderful year!! We are so excited to have all of our students in our class. We have been working on writing our first name and have been doing get to know you activities. Next week we will begin working on letters and numbers. We know it will be a great year!!
